Modeled after a swimsuit that Italy’s Fascist dictator, Benito Mussolini, had made, Bush Suit depicts a rather ambiguous image of the President at the time the work was made. The silkscreened portrait at once references Andy Warhol’s portraits of Mao and Marilyn while showing the banality of a person’s visage on swimwear during a time of war.
